GENEPICA presented and discussed a series of policy briefs with representatives from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, translating current developments in genomic medicine into practical considerations for healthcare policy and implementation in Indonesia. The discussions include benchmarking best practices in the genomics field in other countries, such as Singapore and the United Kingdom. Topics that are explored included informed consent, genomic data protection, ethical governance, return of result (RoR), and lessons from international healthcare systems. By bringing together scientific evidence, regulatory perspectives, and stakeholder dialogue, the session aimed to support evidence-informed decision-making and identify opportunities for the safe, equitable, and sustainable integration of genomics into Indonesia’s healthcare system. The engagement reflects GENEPICA’s commitment to connecting research, policy, and practice to strengthen national capacity in genomic medicine.
